NSW trio charged with kidnapping two men
Three people charged with kidnapping two adults at a service station in the NSW Illawarra region have faced court.
Benjamin John Walker and Ilo Ilievski, aged 43 and 42 respectively, and 35-year-old Tara Clare were arrested near Wollongong on Tuesday evening after allegedly kidnapping a pair of men and holding them for more than 24 hours.
The trio was charged with kidnapping and intent to commit actual bodily harm, while Ilievski was also charged with dealing with the proceeds of crime.
Police allege the two victims, aged 28 and 29, met with the three older people who were known to them at a petrol station in Wollongong about 12.30pm on Monday.
They were then kidnapped and taken to a home where the 28-year-old was assaulted.
Family members of the two kidnapped men reported the matter to police, who were notified when they were released about 3.30pm on Tuesday.
Ilievski didn't apply for bail before magistrate Claire Girotto at Wollongong Local Court on Wednesday and it was formally refused.
Walker applied for bail but it was refused, while Clare was granted conditional bail.
