A man charged with committing a terrorist act and attempted murder after allegedly stabbing a man in southwest Sydney street will remain behind bars until at least November, a magistrate has said.

Ihsas Khan, 22, was represented by his lawyer at Sydney's Central Local Court on Wednesday but did not appear in person or on screen.

Magistrate Les Mabbutt said Khan's bail remains refused and adjourned his case to November 24 where he will appear via video link at Parramatta Local Court.
