NSW teen missing for more than a week

A 14-year-old girl has been missing for more than a week and NSW police are asking for help locating her.

Tara Hipwell was last seen leaving her high school at Mayfield in north-western Newcastle on the afternoon of May 14.

She is described as being 178cm tall, with a medium build, light brown hair, blue eyes and has braces.

Police hold concerns for her safety due to her age.
