An armed man with a female accomplice has robbed a taxi driver on the NSW south coast.

The 62-year-old taxi driver went to Coconut Drive in Nowra to collect a fare at about 2am on Saturday when a woman got in the back of the taxi and a man leaned inside the front passenger door, threatening the driver with a handgun.

The 62-year-old driver, who wasn't injured, handed over cash and the pair fled on foot, police said.
