NSW pair attacked by armed men

A man and a woman from the NSW Riverina have been attacked by a group of armed men.

The 17-year-old girl has told police she was sitting inside a car parked in Kooringal on Friday night while the man, 24, went into a nearby unit block.

Police say the man was assaulted and robbed while inside the unit.

Meanwhile, the girl was threatened by two men - one armed with a knife and the other a baseball bat - while she sat alone inside the car.

The pair then smashed the car's windows before the girl ran away and called police.

The 24-year-old man has been released from hospital after receiving treatment for a cut to his leg.

Police are hunting their trio of attackers, who are each described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance.
