NSW on-duty cop charged with assault

A Sydney police officer has been suspended with pay after allegedly assaulting somebody while on duty.
The male sergeant was working in the city's northwest on November 4 when the alleged incident took place, police said in a brief statement released on Tuesday.
He is due to face court on January 11 charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
