Sydney mother missing nearly two weeks

Katherine Ackling-Bryen dropped her two young daughters off at their Sydney primary school two weeks ago, went shopping and then vanished.

The 37-year-old left behind her phone, has not accessed her bank accounts or spoken to family since, in a disappearance that relatives say is out of character.

Police don't believe the St Marys mother's disappearance is suspicious but are concerned for her welfare.

"She was last seen at the local shopping centre about 12.15pm and we believe she made her way home from there and was reported missing about 3.30pm," Detective Inspector Barry Vincent said about the events of February 19.

"The investigation so far shows she hasn't accessed her bank accounts - a lot of her cards and her phone were left at home."

Mrs Ackling-Bryen is a stay-at-home mother to her primary school-aged daughters.

Police have spoken to family, including her husband, who don't know why she may have left or where she could have gone.

Detectives are hoping members of the public will be able to piece together Mrs Ackling-Bryen's afternoon movements on the day she disappeared, or shed light on where she may be.
