NSW man shot in foot during drive-by

A man has been shot in the foot during a drive-by shooting on the NSW Central Coast, police say.

The 41-year-old was walking along Ashton Avenue at The Entrance on Monday night when a white van pulled up next to him.

Police have been told that a man armed with a rifle leant out of the passenger window and shot the man in the foot before the van sped away.

The injured man was able to flag down a motorist who called emergency services.

He was taken to Gosford Base Hospital where he is being treated for a non-life threatening injury, police said.
