NSW man knocked unconscious outside pub

A man is in hospital after being knocked unconscious when he tried to break up an argument outside a pub on Sydney's northern beaches.

The 28-year-old was punched to the ground outside a Collaroy hotel when he intervened in the confrontation on Sunday night, police said.

He was treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital with facial injuries.
