Burglar critical after fall from NSW unit

A man is fighting for life after a botched midnight robbery where he fell three floors from a unit in western Sydney.

The 36-year-old man suffered critical head injuries after falling three storeys following a break-in at an apartment in Liverpool around midnight on Tuesday, police said.

A neighbour phoned police after hearing a loud noise and found the man lying on the ground, Fairfax media reported.

The man has been taken to Liverpool Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
