Man dies after ATV rolls in Easter Sunday tragedy

A man has died in a horror Easter Sunday accident after an all-terrain-vehicle rolled in New South Wales' Hunter region.

The two-seater crashed on Crown Land in Cooranbong near Lake Macquarie about 7pm yesterday, police said.

The passenger, a 35-year-old man, was treated at the scene by paramedics but died at the scene.

The driver, a 30-year-old man, was taken to hospital in critical condition.

A crime scene was established and forensically examined by crash site investigators.

Police will prepare a report for the coroner as inquiries about the fatal crash continue.
