NSW man charged with stepfather's murder

A man has been charged with murder over the death of his stepfather at a home on the NSW mid north coast.

Police say they discovered the 74-year-old man's body in a garden at Coomba Park, near Forster, about 4.50pm on Wednesday.

A 50-year-old man was arrested in a nearby street.

The stepson has been charged with murder and assaulting police.

He was refused bail and is expected to face Forster Local Court on Thursday.
