NSW man charged with serious DV offences
The brother of Australian terrorist Khaled Sharrouf will remain behind bars after he allegedly cut a woman's hair off and repeatedly assaulted her, fracturing an eye socket, vertebrae and ribs.
Police say Arken Sharrouf's alleged 27-year-old victim showed up to a southern Sydney police station on Tuesday night with severe facial injuries.
Sharrouf, 32, was later arrested at a nearby home over the alleged domestic violence-related assaults.
His charges include intentionally choking a person without consent, common assault, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and causing grievous bodily harm to a person with intent.
His matter was mentioned on Wednesday at Sutherland Local Court. He didn't apply for bail and it was formally refused.
Sharrouf is expected back in court on July 8.
