A man will face court accused of a violent outburst at an under-7s rugby league match in southern Sydney at the weekend.

The sideline scuffle broke out at Renown Reserve in Oatley on Saturday morning where the Kogarah Cougars junior rugby league team faced off against the Kingsgrove Colts.

Vision captured by a spectator shows a man in white arguing with a group of men, shoving them repeatedly while others on the field hold his arms back. Parents can also be seen moving their children out of the way.

The man is a trainer for the Kogarah Cougars and jumped into an argument between coaches over a penalty awarded by a referee, News Corp reports.

NSW Police say they were alerted to "an altercation between spectators" and issued a 37-year-old man with a Court Attendance Notice on Tuesday night for offensive behaviour at the match.

The Kogarah team's official website says it's "a family club where the kids come first".

The man will appear before Sutherland Local Court on August 8.
