NSW kidnapper to be sentenced
A Sydney man convicted of kidnapping and threatening his ex-girlfriend with rape by his friends will be sentenced in the NSW District Court on Friday.
Aaron Cevikoz last October held a fishing knife to his then-girlfriend Zoe Hassall's throat during an argument and a month later wrapped a long sock around Ms Hassall's head, stuffed part of it into her mouth, and forced her into his car before turning on the child-lock, his judge-only trial heard.
After locking Ms Hassall in the car he told her, "I'm going to sell you to my friends, and they are going to kill you after they have raped you," the court heard.
Ms Hassall eventually escaped from Cevikoz's Kensington unit after being detained for a weekend and made it to a nearby pharmacy where police were called.
Cevikoz, 29, is listed to be sentenced at the Downing Centre District Court at 10am.
