NSW greyhound code review begins

Dogs raced in NSW are set to benefit from a single code of practice to cover their entire lifespan, Greyhound Racing NSW says.

The single code is the aim of a review begun by GRNSW, which follows an inquiry that investigated evidence of the large-scale destruction of dogs, a cover-up of greyhound deaths, and the use of live rabbits as bait. It's yet to submit its final report.

The review will be led by GRNSW's chief veterinary officer, Dr Elizabeth Arnott, and will address critical aspects of the dogs' training.
