NSW firefighter on arson charges

A NSW firefighter has been charged with 23 arson-related offences on the NSW Central Coast.
The 19-year-old retained firefighter is accused of starting fires in bushland and bins in Toukley, Norah Head and Canton Beach.
A retained firefighter works on an on-call basis.

More than 60 fires are alleged to have been lit in the area in recent months, and detectives from the Property Crime Squad's arson unit believe the incidents are linked.
The suspect was arrested at Norah Head on Thursday and refused bail to appear at Wyong Local Court on Friday.
Police say further charges are expected to be laid.
