NSW driver intentionally hit rider: police

A woman police allege deliberately hit a motorcyclist with her car on the NSW north coast, killing him in the process, has been charged with murder.

The woman was driving a station wagon on the Pacific Motorway at Cudgera Creek on January 6 when she "intentionally hit" the motorbike ridden by a 61-year-old man who was unknown to her, they said on Friday.

Paramedics treated the man but he died at the scene.

The woman, a 47-year-old from Girards Hill near Lismore, was uninjured but taken to Tweed Hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.

Investigators arrested her on Friday and charged her with murder.

She was refused bail and is due to face Lismore Local Court on Saturday.
