A man with a provisional licence will face court after being charged with high range drink driving after allegedly returning a positive reading nine times the limit at Coffs Harbour.

Police say they stopped a car with its hazard lights on just before midnight on Saturday and the 23-year-old driver underwent a roadside breath test, returning a positive result.

He was arrested and later returned a positive breath analysis result, prompting the suspension of his licence and order for him to appear at Coffs Harbour Local Court on August 7.
