A drug-affected driver tried to bribe a highway patrol officer after she was pulled over on the NSW Central Coast, police allege.

They say the 30-year-old was stopped at Calga on Friday after another motorist alerted a highway patrol officer to her erratic driving.

The woman allegedly blamed a mechanical issue and offered the officer money in exchange for her release in a conversation recorded on his car video.

Police said she later tested positive to methylamphetamine.

She appeared on Saturday at Wyong Local Court, where she was accused of bribing police and granted bail to reappear on August 14.
