NSW council hit with fraud allegations
AAP
Staff at a Sydney council are being investigated by the NSW corruption watchdog over allegations they defrauded more than $4.2 million and misused power for personal gain.
ICAC is probing allegations that City of Botany Bay Council former chief financial officer Gary Goodman and other council employees falsified invoices to themselves, totalling into the millions of dollars.
The inquiry, Operation Ricco, is set to start on February 29 and will also investigate claims Mr Goodman took bribes and inducements in awarding contracts while he was employed at the council.
