An off-duty NSW policeman has had his driver's licence suspended after being caught allegedly speeding while twice the legal alcohol limit.

The man was arrested on Sunday morning after his car was clocked travelling at 138km/h in a 110km/h zone on the Hume Highway near Goulburn.

He later blew a positive reading of 0.102, NSW Police said in a statement on Monday.

The senior constable, attached to the Central Metropolitan Region, will face Goulburn Local Court on August 9 charged with exceeding the speed limit by more than 20km/h and mid-range drink-driving.
