NSW child sex offenders face life in prison under new laws

Child sex offenders will face being locked up for life in NSW under new sentencing laws.
The maximum sentence for sexual intercourse with a child under 10 has increased from 25 years to life under legislation passed by the NSW Parliament on Wednesday evening.
Additional child sex offences such as assault with intent to have sexual intercourse with a child under 10, have also been included in the Standard Non-Parole Period scheme.
