A woman accused of murdering her partner at a Sydney home has withdrawn her bail application.

Qian Liu didn't appear at Burwood Local Court on Friday, where supporters watched on as her barrister Phillip Boulten SC said more time was needed after her charge was upgraded to murder.

The 34-year-old was initially charged with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm but was later charged with murder after her partner, Han Lim Chin, died at St George Hospital on Wednesday night.

In documents tendered to the court on Monday, police allege Liu stabbed the 39-year-old in the chest with a knife at a Riverwood home.

Mr Boulten told the court a bail application would likely be made in the future.

Liu is due back at Burwood Local Court on March 2.
