A group of young men spent an evening impersonating police officers, pulling over cars with flashing lights in Sydney's south west, police say.

The three men allegedly pulled over up to 10 cars on Friday evening with red and blue flashing lights and spoke to drivers near Camden.

Police have charged two men, 19 and 22, with impersonating an officer, with a third man, 18, from Queensland, also expected to be charged with the same offence.

The 19-year-old driver was also driving over the alcohol limit, police say.
