A Sydney man raped a girl over a number of years before giving her a gun and urging her to kill herself, it is alleged.

The 51-year-old, who was already before the courts accused of multiple counts of indecently assaulting a 13-year-old girl, has now been charged over alleged sex attacks on another teenager.

Police alleged on Tuesday the man sexually assaulted the 15-year-old girl when she was 10 and 11, and again when she was 14, at a property in Sydney's southwest.

It is further alleged the man gave the teenager a pistol and attempted to coerce her into taking her own life.

As part of their investigation, police searched a home in Bradbury in southwest Sydney, where they seized a pistol for further testing.

The fresh charges against the 51-year-old include 18 counts of aggravated sexual assault against a child under 16 and causing a person to take an intoxicating substance with intent to commit indictable offence, aiding attempted suicide, and common assault.

The man was refused bail and was due to front Campbelltown Local Court on Tuesday.
