Man tries to snatch boy, 4, at Sydney mall

A man has tried to grab a four-year-old boy at a northwest Sydney shopping centre while the child was with his mother.

A man approached the pair in the Richmond shopping centre car park about noon on Friday and attempted to lift the boy up and away from his mother. His mother yelled out and the man ran into the centre.

The man has been described as aged in his late 50s, with a medium build, a clean-shaven chubby face, short brown or grey curly hair, dark round eyes and large lips.

Officers are appealing for anyone who might have witnessed or captured the incident on dashcam to contact them.
