Man to face court after 'wedding assault'
A 40-year-old man will face court after he allegedly assaulted a fellow guest at a wedding in Sydney's inner west.
Emergency services were called to a university function hall at about 7pm on Saturday to find a 55-year-old man unconscious on the ground with head and facial injuries.
Police were told he was approached by another man who punched him, causing him to fall.
Both men were guests of a wedding at the Camperdown venue, according to multiple media reports.
Police said early on Monday the injured man remained in a critical but stable condition in Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
His 40-year-old alleged attacker was arrested near the venue and charged with recklessly inflicting grievous bodily harm. He is scheduled to appear at Newtown Local Court on June 15.
