Man charged over NSW hammer attack
A man has been charged with attempted murder over a domestic dispute that's left a woman fighting for life in hospital after she was attacked with a hammer in Sydney's west.
The 54-year-old woman named in the media as Robynne Fraley was assaulted at a home in Cecil Hills about 12.40pm on Monday, suffering serious head injuries, and remains in a critical condition in Liverpool Hospital.
A 54-year-old man was arrested nearby a short time later and taken to hospital under police guard.
He was charged on Tuesday with attempted murder and maliciously inflicting grievous bodily harm.
The man has been refused bail to appear before Liverpool Local Court on Wednesday.
