Man threatened in stairwell with hammers

Two men have been arrested after allegedly luring a man into a stairwell in inner Sydney, threatening him with hammers and robbing him.

The 25-year-old victim was set upon in the stairwell of a unit complex in Surry Hills on Monday, where he was forced to hand over his backpack containing personal items and an iPad.

Two men, aged 29 and 32, have been arrested and charged with offences including armed robbery. They are set to face Central Local Court on Thursday.
