Man spits blood, kicks police in NSW fight

A man who allegedly spat blood and kicked police officers in the head during an altercation on the NSW mid-north coast has been charged.

Police were called to a reports of a brawl on Thursday at John Wright Park in Tuncurry where they spotted a 26-year-old man with blood on his face allegedly threatening others.

He was handcuffed when he allegedly kicked at two officers, striking one on the side of his head and the other to the forehead, a NSW Police statement said on Friday.

He then allegedly spat blood on two other officers and attempted to further assault them at Foster Police Station following his arrest.

The man was charged with affray, resisting an officer and four counts of assault, and was refused bail to appear before Kempsey Local Court on Friday.
