Man shot in leg in Sydney's southwest

A 24-year-old man has been shot in the leg in Sydney's southwest in a suspected drive-by shooting.

Police were called to a property in Lurnea at about 9pm on Sunday after reports of shots being fired.

The injured man, who was believed to be standing outside a house on Monica Close, was treated by paramedics before being taken to Liverpool Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

Police believe a White Toyota Kluger was in the area at the time of the shooting.

A car matching that description was found burnt-out in Oran Park, about 20km southwest of Lurnea, later in the night, police said on Monday.
