Man shot dead in Sydney yesterday afternoon still unknown

A man shot and killed near a Sydney shopping centre is yet to be identified by police.
The man was gunned down at about 5.40pm on Monday on Lords Rd at Leichhardt, near the busy MarketPlace shopping centre.
It is understood he was shot a number of times at close range.
A witness who lives across the street said she heard four rapid-fire shots, News Corp Australia reports.
Paramedics tried to revive the man, believed to be aged in his late 20s, but he died at the scene.
Investigators set up a crime scene and Lords Rd remained closed overnight.
Police said early on Tuesday morning the area would be reopened shortly.
Nobody has been arrested.
