Man's arm nearly severed during NSW attack

A man has suffered head injuries and almost had his arm severed during a violent home invasion on NSW's Mid North Coast.

Police are appealing for information after three offenders broke into a home at Bowraville and attacked a 54-year-old man about 5.30am on Thursday, stealing a Harley Davidson motorcycle.

One of the attackers was armed with a machete and the victim was struck on the head, lower back and right forearm, which was almost severed.
