Man fighting for life after Sydney assault

A man has been left in a critical condition with a fractured skull after he was allegedly punched and kicked on an inner-Sydney street.
Police allege a 34-year-old man approached and then attacked the 55-year-old, who was known to him, at Darlinghurst on Thursday morning.
They say the victim struck the footpath and lost consciousness before he was taken to St Vincent's Hospital. The accused remains in custody at Kings Cross Police Station assisting with inquiries.
