Man dies after hitting power pole in NSW

A man has died after his car veered off the road and hit a power pole near Port Stephens, north of Newcastle..
Emergency services arrived at Nelsons Plains just before 2:30am on Sunday and found the driver dead at the wheel.
It took several hours to retrieve the man's body from the car and isolate the cracked power pole, police say.
