Man critically hurt in Sydney crash

A man is fighting for life after careering off the road in western Sydney and smashing his car into a fence.

The 33-year-old was trapped in his car early on Sunday after leaving the roadway at Prairiewood just after midnight, ploughing into the fence of a home and ending up back on the road.

He has been taken to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition, while his 31-year-old female passenger has been admitted to hospital for observation.
