Man dead after NSW hammer, wrench attack

A man has died from a hammer and wrench attack in northwest NSW, with his alleged attacker charged with murder.

The 57-year-old victim was struck in the head during a dispute at a business in Wee Waa on Tuesday afternoon, police say.

The man died in in Narrabri Hospital on Wednesday morning.

The charge against a 37-year-old man allegedly found with a firearm at a nearby pub shortly after the attack has since been upgraded from attempted murder to murder.

He was refused bail to appear in Moree Local Court on Wednesday.
