Man critical after being hit by car in NSW

A 57-year-old man is in a critical condition after he was hit by a car in Sydney's southwest.

Emergency services were called to Peel Street, Canley Heights just before 8am on Sunday, where the man was found with head and arm injuries.

He was rushed to Liverpool Hospital, where he remains critical.

The female driver, 65, was also taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

She and her passenger, a 16-year-old boy, were uninjured.

Police are calling on witnesses to come forward.
