Man charged with wife's front-yard murder
A Sydney woman is believed to have been gardening with her husband in the front yard of their home before he allegedly killed her.
The body of the 49-year-old woman, identified in the media as Vesna Crnobrnja, was found with multiple facial injuries in the yard of the Flame Tree Street property just after midday on Monday.
Detective Inspector Dean Johnstone said police had been called to the home previously.
"The information we have been provided so far by witnesses is that there was an altercation, and the male and the female were involved in an argument," he said.
Police are investigating whether a gardening tool was used in the attack.
"There will be an initial result in the next 48 hours," Inspector Robert Powell told Macquarie Radio on Tuesday.
Mrs Crnobrnja's 51-year-old husband was arrested at the scene and charged with her murder at Liverpool Police Station.
He was refused bail and will appear in court on Tuesday.
The couple's three children were at school at the time of the murder.
