Man charged with baby's murder

A man accused of murdering a baby girl more than a year ago will appear in a Bathurst court charged over her death.

Paramedics were called to the Regents Park home in western Sydney in August last year where they found the seven-week-old girl unconscious.

She was rushed to Westmead Children's Hospital but died shortly after.

Following a lengthy investigation, detectives arrested a 26-year-old man at a Bathurst jail.

He was charged with murder, refused bail and will appear in Bathurst Local Court on Sunday.
