Man charged over suspicious death on bail

A man charged over the suspicious death of another man found bleeding just 50 metres from a Sydney hospital will remain on bail until his next court appearance.

Abdul Zahed, 30, is accused of failing to bring information to the attention of police, namely that a homicide had been committed, according to court documents.

A doctor was leaving Bankstown Hospital at about 12.15am on December 11 when he came across the injured man on Claribel Street, police said.

The doctor gave him first aid and he was taken to Liverpool Hospital for further treatment but the 29-year-old, who had sustained serious head and leg injuries, later died.

Zahed, from Croydon, was arrested at the scene and later charged with concealing an indictable offence.

He did not appear for a brief hearing at Bankstown Local Court on Wednesday.

His bail was continued and he is due to appear before the court again on February 18.
