Man charged over stolen mail in Sydney

A man is due to face a Sydney court after police allegedly discovered stolen mail during a search.

The 38-year-old was stopped and searched by police in Glebe on Tuesday morning.

It's alleged officers found several mail items in other people's names.

Several other items, including a large amount of other people's mail, were also seized during a later search of a Glebe property, police said.

The man was arrested and charged with goods in custody and two counts of receiving and possessing identity information to commit an offence.

He was refused bail and appeared in Newtown Local Court on Tuesday, where he was refused bail to reappear on Thursday.
