Man charged over head-on NSW smash

A 74-year-old man has been charged over a head-on car crash in NSW that left two German teens seriously injured.

Emergency services were called to the Pacific Highway on the NSW mid-north coast after a Mitsubishi Lancer and a campervan collided at 1.30am on March 3.

One of the two 18-year-old German men travelling in the campervan suffered arm and leg injuries, while the other required surgery on his back.

The 74-year-old Lancer driver, who was also seriously hurt in the smash, will appear at Tweed Heads Local Court next month charged with two counts of dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm.
