Man charged over far north NSW stabbing

A 31-year-old man will appear in court after allegedly breaking into a unit in far northern NSW and attacking a man inside.

Police say a 43-year-old man became involved in a verbal altercation with the man after he heard shouting outside his Tweed Heads unit on Thursday night.

The 31-year-old man then allegedly forced his way inside the unit and began fighting with the older man.

Both men, who weren't known to each other, were taken to hospital with cuts.

The younger man was arrested and charged with affray on Saturday and will appear at Tweed Heads Local Court on Monday.
