Man charged over alleged Sydney road rage

A truck driver allegedly threw an object at a car's windscreen before forcing the Honda Jazz into a concrete barrier on Sydney's M4 motorway.

Police say the Honda driver was not injured but his car was heavily damaged following the alleged road rage incident at Greystanes in Sydney's west.

It's alleged the Honda driver was travelling west on the M4 near Blacktown at about 2pm on Friday when he noticed a truck and trailer travelling very close behind him.

Police were told the truck driver soon changed lanes and was travelling parallel to the Honda when he leaned out of the window and threw an object that fractured the car's windscreen.

The truck then changed lanes in front the Honda and its trailer collided with the car which was forced into a centre concrete diving barrier, police allege.

The truck continued west on the M4 but police have since spoken to a 33-year-old Auburn man over the incident.

He has been issued with a court attendance notice for malicious damage, menacing driving, failing to stop and assist after an impact causing injury and not giving particulars to the other driver.

The man is scheduled to appear in Parramatta Local Court on July 31.
