A man has been charged over the theft of $300,000 worth of postage stamps from more than 23 post offices across Sydney.

Twenty-three post offices, including those at Alexandria, Artarmon, St Peters, Crows Nest and Kingsgrove were robbed over a 22-month period between March 2013 and last year.

Police believe two men were behind all the robberies.

In December a 42-year-old man was caught by police breaking in to Five Dock Post Office, where stamps were taken.

On Wednesday police charged the man at Silverwater jail with a further 21 aggravated break, enter and steal offences.

He will appear at Burwood Local Court next month.

Detectives have released an image of another man who they believe can assist with their investigation.
