A man has been charged after he allegedly forced his way into a NSW unit and struck another man who fell through a window.

Police say a man forced himself into the Glendale unit about midday on Boxing Day where two men and a woman were at the home.

He allegedly picked up a knife, and struck another man, causing him to fall through a window.

The alleged attacker then fled and was picked up by police.

Police will allege they found a firearm barrel, stock, two replica pistols, and ammunition owned by the man at the premises.

He has been charged with a range of offences including being armed with intent, assault causing bodily harm and intimidation.

He was refused bail to appear in Newcastle Local Court on Sunday.
