A Queensland man has been arrested after police found nearly $300,000 in a van during a traffic stop in the NSW Riverina region.
Highway patrol officers were alerted to a Toyota Hiace being driven erratically on the Hume Highway at Mundarlo, near Wagga Wagga, at 9am today.
Officers managed to locate the van just south of Tarcutta and pulled it over before speaking to the 26-year-old male driver.
During a search of the vehicle it is alleged officers found nearly $280,000 in cash.
The man was arrested and taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station where he allegedly returned a positive test for methyl amphetamine.
He has been charged with recklessly deal with proceeds of crime and refused bail to appear in Wagga Wagga Local Court tomorrow.
Police said investigations into the incident continue.
