Man bitten by shark while surfing off NSW mid north coast

A man has managed to fight off a shark, after being attacked while surfing on the NSW mid north coast.
The surfer had paddled about 60m into the water at Saltwater Beach, near Taree, when the shark latched onto his arm yesterday.
Luckily, he was able to pull away and fight the shark off before paddling back to shore.

Hospital authorities said the man was in a stable condition with a bite between his shoulder and elbow.
